The Woodlands Hotel is an 94-room award-winning four-star hotel in Limerick, employing more than 200 people, and a popular location for weddings. Regularly rewarding their hard-working team at Christmas with vouchers, for Christmas 2024, the hotel decided to add the Limerick Gift Card to its range of options for staff to choose from, in-keeping with their ethos of supporting local and choosing local suppliers where possible.

The Limerick Gift Card offered staff ultimate local choice, with the ability to spend as they wished, including on their Christmas food shopping with big brand retailers like Tesco and Lidl, plus independent shops, restaurants and more.
The Limerick Gift Card is a local initiative, backed by Limerick City and County Council and Limerick Chamber. As a local company, we decided to offer the Gift Card to our staff as a Christmas reward option because one of our values is supporting local and cards have to be spent here in Limerick. The choice on offer with the card was good. It was very easy to purchase the cards and we had no issues.
Experience of using the card
After the Limerick Gift Card launched in November 2024, Woodlands Hotel decided to introduce the Limerick Gift Card as an option for their staff, opting for the physical version of the card that they were able to hand out to staff in person. They found the ordering process easy and will consider using the cards again in the future.
Accepting the card
